International Truck Freight
Execution of the Order for General Carriage by Road begins at the moment of the Customer’s confirmation is ready to pick up the cargo. Standard term of submission of the Order for execution is 2 (two) working days before the planned start time of services (cargo transportation) for road freight transportation.
Upon confirmation, the company specialist (known as Logistician) determines the parameters of the vehicle and the best route, if the Order does not contain any unique Client's wishes.
Then, the account manager receives the shipping documents from the Customer (by any convenient means of communication, including the Profile of the Customer). Shipping documents are processed by customs clearance specialists using special software and CIS. At the output of the processing the Specification with the full list of goods items with their physical and technical characteristics is formed.
After receiving notification that the Specification is ready, logistics specialists prepare drafts of shipping documents, including TIR and CMR. These documents are sent to the European freight forwarders, where the TIR procedure is performed under control of the logisticians. After TIR clearance the truck with the cargo leaves for the destination customs office in Russia. Upon arrival, the cargo is cleared and the whole process of registration is controlled, followed by release of cargo for free circulation in Russia and delivery to the warehouse of the customer.
In turn, Collected Cargo Shipments are transported primarily by road. An extensive road network, a large number of consolidation depots, round-the-clock service on many European itineraries, well-balanced rates of transportation time and cost are considered as the main factors in favor of delivery of consolidated cargoes from the European Union by automobiles.
Here are some of the main countries exporting cargo to Russia:
- Italy.
- Germany.
- Benelux Countries.
- Poland.
- Czech Republic.
- Austria.
- Sweden.
- France.
Delivery of consolidated cargoes from Europe is carried out under the scheme of consolidation of cargoes at a single consolidation (product) warehouse. In practice, Optimalog uses its own unique system of delivery of European consolidated loads, which involves the use of transit and general consolidation warehouses.
The main terms of delivery of goods from Europe are EXW and FCA. Frankly speaking, the goods are taken directly from the factory) of the Manufacturer or from the warehouses. In this case, Seller and Buyer themselves define the terms of delivery in the contract. Different European shippers prefer different terms of shipment. Italians usually use EXW delivery terms, and German shippers use FCA.
FCA terms of delivery imply free delivery of cargo (which is included in the price of the goods) to the place of its transfer to the Buyer. It is quite a common practice, for example, for shippers to deliver goods on FCA terms to key shipping hubs that do not extend beyond the geographical boundaries of the shipment's country.
For instance, a German factory in Hamburg may deliver the cargo to Berlin (which is a major node in German goods traffic), but it will definitely not be taken to Warsaw. This has quite an economic justification: the Sender uses local transport, which is much less expensive for him or her than the international delivery transport to Poland.
Also, the Sender is being loyal to the goods' Buyer, simultaneously supplying the cargo under FCA conditions. It happens because a part of the logistic route is covered by the Sender, thus saving logistic costs for the Buyer.
