International Marine Container Transportation
Marine Container Transportation consists of several stages:
- Releasing an empty container for loading cargo into it (known as packing), which takes place at the Sender's warehouse or at the factory.
- Transportation of the freighted container to the point of departure and delivery at the port.
- Loading the container onto a ship (OTHC).
- Sea Freight of the Container (Ocean Freight).
- Unloading at the port of Peretaki when the vessel is unable to enter the waters of the destination port, which is common for several ports in Europe, Russia (Port of St. Petersburg), etc.
- Inland Shipping by Feeder Vessel to Port of Destination.
- Unloading of container at destination port (DTHC).
- Picking up the container from the port and transporting it to the final destination.
- Empty container at the port or at a discharge point (container storage facility outside the port).
Depending on the terms of delivery according to Incoterms-2020, the payment at different sections of transportation made by the sender and the recipient of the cargo. To unify and understand what is included in the cost of maritime transport, the international terms of conditions of carriage by sea are presented here:
- FILO - Free in Liner out - the cost of carriage does not include the cost of loading on the ship (OTHC), but includes the cost of unloading at the port of destination (DTHC).
- LILO - Liner in Liner out - all expenses are included in the price, including loading on board the ship (OTHC) and unloading at the destination port (DTHC).
- LIFO - Liner in Free out - Freight costs include loading onto the ship (OTHC) but not unloading at destination (DTHC)
- FIFO - Free in Free out - the cost of carriage does not include the cost of loading on board the ship and discharging at the destination port
As part of services related to cargo declaration, our specialists will perform the following activities:
- Carry out a detailed audit of your documents of the foreign trade transaction, starting from the contract with the supplier of goods ending with an invoice (bill for payment) on a particular shipment of goods. If necessary, make recommendations for the correction of the documents.
- Analyze your submitted description of the goods, if necessary, obtain and / or verify it with the information available in public sources - directories on the Internet, databases, etc.
- Select the HS Codes (classification) that correspond to the description of the goods and make a preliminary calculation of customs duties (in case of import) required to be paid to the Customs Authorities.
- Check the necessity of permission documents registration - certificates of conformity, declarations of conformity, licenses, conclusions etc. for the import and custom registration of the goods on the territory of Russian Federation and calculate the preliminary cost of their registration.
- Prepare a preliminary Specification – a document that gives a detailed description of each article of goods, includes its physical and technical characteristics. This document is a draft for making a goods declaration, and can be agreed with you.
- Prepare the goods declaration and pass the declaration to the customs authorities via ED-2 procedure.
- Provide full assistance to your cargo in the customs clearance process: pre-inspect the cargo, be present during the customs inspection if needed, monitor the process of taking samples and registration of all the relevant documents after the release of goods.
