Testing of Goods
The right to conduct product testing is in the vast majority of cases vested in certified testing labs.
The only exception is the 1d and 2d declaration schemes, in which the applicant can confirm the conformity of products on the basis of the results of tests conducted in a non-accredited lab.
Preliminary Identification Documents
The Applicant shall provide the following documents:
- Specifications.
- Instruction Manual.
- Product Data Sheet.
- A detailed description of the product stating its application field.
Those responsible for defining the required tests are the same list of people who develop the whole plan of conformity assessment procedure and are responsible for it.
Which Types of Tests are Carried Out?
Globally, there is only one type of testing, which is the safety one.
However, tests are carried out for indicators of different safety: electrical, chemical, microbiological, fire, etc.
The result is called a report.
All test results are documented in an official protocol signed by the testing lab. It contains the necessary information about the products and the procedures performed. The details needed are listed below.
- Reasons.
- Manufacturer's Data.
- Description of the Samples.
- Testing Methods.
- Results of Intermediate tests, Samples and Measurements.
- Conclusion.
Cancellation of Testing Results
On June 21st, 2021, Government Decree No. 934 came into force, approving the rules for the invalidation of reports.
If a report is considered invalid, it is recognized as such from the time of issuance. That is, all documents issued on the basis of such a protocol will also be invalid. Therefore, one should be extremely cautious when determining the validity of a report and a testing lab.
