The main requirement of insurance company is to correctly record the circumstances and events of damage for further consideration and recognition of the case as insured.
For this purpose, you need to perform an order of operations, which would subsequently provide completeness of circumstances of the accident, form a documentary basis and help the specialists to recognize the case as an insured one.
We have developed simple and clear instructions, also described in the Contract. Here are the steps you should follow:
- Immediately inform the Forwarder about the event.
- Draw up a cargo damage report.
- Make a note of the damages in the waybills.
- Record photographic evidence of the damages to the goods and the place where they occurred.
- Request explanations from the driver of the vehicle.
- Prepare a preliminary calculation for damages.
- Submit all documents to the Forwarder. The ones confirming occurrence of the insured event and the Client’s property interest. In case of cargo theft or other circumstances, connected with illegal actions of third parties, it is also necessary to inform the competent authorities immediately.
Afterwards, the received information will be analyzed within 14 calendar days and the insurance company will decide whether it is possible to consider the case as insured.
If necessary, the insurance company together with the Forwarder may request additional specific details, as well as attract independent experts to assess the circumstances of damage to the cargo.
After acknowledgment an event as insured the Client, if specified as the ultimate Beneficiary, will receive the agreed amount of loss within 10 banking days.
