Import

Import is the importation of goods to Russia from abroad. Import is the most common customs procedure, under which a participant of FEA, who is considered a legal entity importing goods under contract, must declare the goods to the customs authorities of the Russian Federation.

When importing goods, as determined by the state, customs duties are levied and calculated in accordance with their HS codes.

VAT is also payable during the declaration procedure to the customs authorities. Certain types of imported goods are exempt from and / or preferential in terms of duties and VAT. However, the imported ones must be declared to the customs authorities according to the regulations of the current legislation.
