CROIP (rus. – ТРОИС) is a Customs Registry of Intellectual Property.
Being an optional, but a desirable procedure for FEA participant, adding a trademark to the FCS Register of Intellectual Property allows one to protect himself or herself against copying the brand, importing original products bypassing the distributor, which may lead to litigation against dishonest participants, losses and reputational risks.
Providing a service for entering a trademark in CROIP includes:
- Analysis of documents.
- Organization of notarial translation of the documents (optional).
- Preparation of the application and the set of documents for inclusion in the register.
- Sending an application to the customs authority.
- Control over the stage of making a decision on the application.
- Direction of amendments based on the results of the decision (optional).
- Preparation of an application and a set of documents on the extension of the period of inclusion in the Register, on exclusion from the Register, on changes in the information indicated in the application for inclusion in the Register, or in the documents attached thereto (optional).
Once the procedure for including a trademark in the system is completed, the rights holders can be confident in protecting their rights and reputation, as the customs authority, referring to the registry will prevent counterfeit products from crossing the border.
